  2. Only question is how long will Kranz-Lyndes-Hinze fake a thoughtful discussion before voting to approve Blackwell? Less than 5 minute, more than 3? Not that bad optics ever stopped Kranz & co.

Cue Mali to praise the woman to the skies.

  4. 4:59 Thx for raising this thought provoking question. I too want to know. Larri/Lorri needs to either put up, or shut up. In other words, either reinstate all the people you took off EV like you said you would, make it private, or take down the whole thing all together. I hope for once you do the right thing, b/c right now you have burned alot of bridges w/your needless power trips. Treating people unfairly is not what legitimate Psychologists, or even good people do. Here is a chance for you to redeem yourself. It’s never to late, even at 75.

    1. 6:38- Stay on topic for a change. There is a coup going on at the City Council, and Lorri isn't a part of it. Maybe you should watch the Council meeting on Channel 19 (Cox) and see what you so called elected leaders are doing. In other words, who cares about Lorri? She can't make decisions and this Council can. And I feel very sorry for Leucadia.

  6. Anyone surprised that the Blackwell folks were all at the Council meeting, urged on btw Mike Levin and company? Some of them have never spoken at a council meeting, or even been. The letter Indivisible 49 sent out supporting her and asking everyone to attend was ridiculous. Even her mom or grandmother spoke. There is no hope for this city IMHO. Same old, same old. Too bad Leucadia.

  9. "Welcome all to Encinitas!!! WELCOME!", The Town Dunce. " I vote for Tony's legacy. I vote to bring in more of the world's homeless to Encinitas.", Clown Blackwell.

The initial investigation indicates that shortly after that, the suspected assailant and a younger man got into a fight, and the suspect stabbed the victim, he said.

Officers arrived to find the victim suffering from multiple stab wounds to his torso. They initiated life-saving attempts until medics arrived and took over, but the victim died at the scene.

Police radio traffic indicated that the suspected assailant was arrested at the scene.

He was taken to a hospital to be treated for minor injuries, then was booked into jail on suspicion of murder, burglary, making threats and exhibiting a deadly weapon. Campbell identified him as 57-year-old Paul Bellow.

Campbell said the police believe the man who was killed was 41 years old, but did not release his name pending his family’s notification of his death.

The encounter happened in an area where many homeless people live, and both men are believed to be homeless.

  10. Overheard last night while in the Vibrant downtown.....

"Why thank you Clown Blackwell", said The Town Dunce, "Please organize a lunch at PCG with some of our other loyalists and we will discuss accelerating build the homeless industry in Encinitas."

"Yes Dunce, oooh, I mean Sir. I will get right on that. Do you prefer inside window or upper deck at sunset?"

  11. According to Lyndes, the public wants someone like Tony Kranz. Do you Leucadia? Because Kranz ran for Mayor not D1. She says it is not a time to change gears. If not now, then when?

  15. Wish we could catch them in a Brown Act violation. They really came to this decision independently? We should have been able to vote on this. I am so pissed off I'm going to make myself a stiff drink, smoke a doobie and watch a stupid t.v. show. It would be better than this shitshow going on at City Hall. These council members make me sick!

    1. Except all those same people insisted it was going to MWD. In the end she didn't even apply. Or that MWD was going to speak on her behalf. Instead we heard from a number of D1 residents that supported Blackwell. The correct decision was made.

  17. Well isn't that a surprise? 🤮

Clown Council complete with the only smart Councilmember being Ehlers.

    Lets start the twoffer recall:

    1. The Town Dunce
    2. The Clown Blackwell

    - 53% of the voters

    ReplyDelete
  18. 3-1 for Allison. At least Ehlers has some integrity. As for the rest of them, vote them out next time, including Kranz who has to run in 2024.

    1. BS - Recall now... that ends Kranz on council forever and ends the destruction of Encinitas.

Tony's support of inviting all the homeless to Encinitas is likely why Encinitas is targeted by the drug lords and our children are being targeted and dying.

Stop the fentanyl, stop kids from dying, stop Kranz on Council, Recall The Town Dunce now!

  19. At Grade Crossings are cheap and simple.

Cut and remove Tony's garbage fence causing injury to our residents. My neighbor who is nearly blind crossed the railroad for over 25 years with no issue. Now Tony's damn fence has caused him to fall and get severely hurt.

Remove the damn f'cked up Tony's fence and remove The Town Dunce.

    1. 8:12- Hope he sues the City. That fence is B.S. And while we're at it, let's get rid of the Town Dunce in 2024. He's a disgrace.

    2. June you are an idiot!

Kranz led NCTD board in voting for a fence without any at grade crossings.

Kranz is the reason we have no access, and no improvements on Vulcan Avenue.
      Lets start the recall:

      1. The Town Dunce

Leucadia projects of RR crossings, horns, Vulcan Avenue, La Costa Avenue, Beacon Beach Access? Not so much...... Better become more effective. like those Cardiff residents or elect better Councilmembers to represent you than the Town Dunce.

    1. That guy for the backstops was effective for Cardiff. What did that take 6 months.

  29. As per Channel 10 news this is how Cardiff got it's "quiet zone" “We know how important it is for us to create safe and quiet neighborhoods in Encinitas, especially in this popular area, so that residents can enjoy a more peaceful quality of life,” said Encinitas Mayor Catherine Blakespear.

The Quiet Zone was developed and funded by the City of Encinitas with the help of the San Diego Association of Governments (SANDAG), North County Transit District (NCTD), California Department of Transportation (CalTrans), the Federal Railroad Administration, and the California Public Utilities Commission.

Although train engineers no longer have to sound their horns, they may do so if they feel the need to for safety purposes.

Recently, the Chesterfield Grade Crossing received a multi-million dollar upgrade which includes several new safety features.
The rebuilt intersection now has ADA-accessible sidewalks and ramps, new traffic signals, rail crossing safety features, and new bike and pedestrians paths.

    1. Guess who lives in Cardiff? Blakespear in case you didn't know. That's how it's done. What was she promised? That's for all of you to figure out.

    3. 9:19- Blakespear lives in her mothers house, so kind of the same. The Party wanted to move her up. Not sure that is true with Kranz.

  30. What was the result of the at-grade crossings study the guy reported? As soon as he said Phoebe is 3/10 mile from Leucadia Blvd, I lost track. The blocks are 1/10 mile apart. Phoebe is 4/10 mile from Leucadia Blvd. Phoebe, West Glaucus, Diana, Jasper, Leucadia Blvd.

    1. blowing smoke about figuring out to space 2 of them within 1.3 miles. Not very good. said they having really done anything yet but the crossings are estimated at $1,000,000 each. They do no have the quiet zone figured out at all. They need PUC approval. Good luck thats a 10 year excersize. And lastly the Town Dunce at the the last SANDAG meeting voted with the City of San Diego to give Encinitas's SANDAG vote and all of our transnet sales tax money to the City of San Diego projects.

Now that is your town dunce that June and all the other blabbering woke Karens supported last election.

Yep that was a nice move for equity. You gave all Encinitas tax dollars that could have paid for these rail crossings, Vulcan Avenue and La Costa Avenue improvements to San Diego, National City and Chula Vista and to flood our Streets with more Mexico traffic while ignoring the streets in Encinitas.

The 47% including June and now Clown Blackwell could not have picked a bigger dunce. Hail to the Town Dunce!

With every Town Dunce vote, sinking Encinitas further and further into the LA homeless beach city abyss.

Time for the dual recall to take back our town. For the same amount of work, we get two new council member booted and two new ones right around the year mark. Perfect.

Alex, please take heart and lead the recall process. You got over 4,000 votes last time which shows Encinitas and Leucadia can not stand The Dunce and we are ready for a change.

      Lets Go!!!

The Town Dunce at the the last SANDAG meeting voted with the City of San Diego to give Encinitas's SANDAG vote and all of our transnet sales tax money to the City of San Diego projects. He voted apart from the effort from the smartest Democrat on the SANDAG board, Del Mar Councilwoman Terry Gaasterland, and a bipartisan coalition of smaller cities to keep some of our local control and our own tax money.

Kranz gave our tax money and our vote at SANDAG away!

Now that is your Town Dunce that June and all the other blabbering woke Karens supported last election.

  35. So many people bitching about how filling the D1 seat should have been the result of a public vote, rather than the council appointing someone whose values are in line with the vacating council members. What's funny is that when there is an election, like we just had, and the voters select people many of you don't like (i.e. Tony and Joy), you then run around screaming about low education voters and unfair campaign mailers. So, you want an election, but only so long as your candidate wins. You'll tolerate an appointment, even someone the voters have already rejected, but only so long as it's your candidate and not someone who represents the policies espoused by a majority of the residents. I guess you don't see the hypocrisy in your positions, and why you keep losing.

    5. And BTW, the majority/angry minority argument, a long time favorite of former council people like Jerome Stocks and James Bond, who constantly complained about "The same 30 rabble rousers". That's part of democracy, the right to dissent.

    7. I can see dissent on policy, or even personality (e.g. Stocks as mayor), but the dissent we too often see today is predicated on lies, conspiracy theories, or a general lack of education and understanding. And since it's rooted in vitriol and hyperbole, anything worthwhile in the messaging gets lost in the mix. In other words, stop being petulant jerks and maybe we'll all be able to work together.

    Replies
    1. 3:29- I don't want to defeat the left or the right. I would just like a chance to vote for someone in my district. Look at who is up on the dais. Hinze was an appointment, Joy was an appointment, which is really sad because my dear friend Jody Hubbard, who passed away while on the Council, asked for someone she wanted. It was ignored and we got Joy. And now we have another appointment. Yes, both Hinze and Joy went on to win an election, but Joy won with about 200 votes and she was an incumbent, which is always favorable to a candidate. It would have cost about $250,000 to allow the voters in D1 to vote by mail. We spend more than that on lots of irrelevant things Democracy is not irrelevant in my opinion. If they had allowed it and Blackwell had won, then that's the way it should have been. I don't live in D1 but if I did, I would be unhappy I wasn't allowed to vote. Maybe people should finish out their terms before running for another position on the Council? This would not have happened if Kranz didn't want to be Mayor so bad. He had 2 years left on his CC term. He should have finished that and then run for Mayor, which is only a 2 year term. Just my 2 cents, which is worth noting these days in the political arena, be it left or right.

      Delete
    2. Kranz chose to run for mayor in 2022 with two more years to serve on the council to protect his position. If he had lost, he would still have maintain his council position. If he had waited until 2024 and lost, he would be off the council completely. The appointment of Blackwell was clearly decided beforehand. The way the motion was made by Hinze and seconded by Lyndes showed this. No doubt this was another Brown Act violation.

      Delete

  43. Wow. I agree with margo. So rare.

Defeat the left? You must mean the America loving left.

You can't expect the America hating right to defend America. They are a bunch of authoritarian riotous insurrectionist traitors who sold out their nation for an orange mudded despot criminal and still are. Look who got appointed to committees under the spineless McCarthy. The very ones who supported the denial of a duly elected office holder the most.

The election fraud has always come from the republicans and the worst of the worst of them held up the speaker of the house to get these committee assignments. Even the latest fraudster from New York received committee assignments.

There's some more spine, more like spinelessness, showing from the speaker of the house of the America hating right wing republicans. You right wingers own this for your treachery and lack of a back bone.

They you have the local example, where San Diego was in much better shape then, SF and Portland, and Seattle, and what did it do along with BIA and Dalakraz? They put out the welcoming sign for the worlds drug addicted homeless and boy oh boy did they come, and its just begun.

Then you have the whole affordable housing fiasco. What is affordable housing? Taxpayers are leaving the state in droves and non-taxpayers are flooding in.... home prices are tanking? How low is affordable?

Face it, this ridiculous scam that Marco and other play is just a method for the democrats to spread their government welfare programs and the republican developers to plop out their shitty stack and pack and maximize profit at the existing residents expense. Its lining Marco's pockets.

Wake up voters, the current leaders have Encinitas pointing straight down. They bamboozled the voters in the last election with the Stan game and the citizens better take a long hard look at taking back Encinitas. Sluka flying school. It's always these schools flying up 17 miles from Montgomery Field from the city of san diego flying in circles over 10s of thousands of people, their homes and schools. They have started again, and our group is going after them. They make money while putting your families at risk. Just to let you know, nationwide on average, 1000 planes go down yearly. This according to the FAA. Eight here last year in San Diego County. That is just the ones we read about. And least we not ignore the leaded fuel exhaust raining down from these planes on your kids

    1. Funny you bring this up. I just contacted Pacific Leasing in Washington state. They lease quite a few planes to schools in San Diego. Plane N416ca was seen circling Solana Beach 14 times during a 40 minute period this week. Its extremely dangerous and we have found the local FAA is useless. Our group considers it a threat to fly in circles over our houses.

    2. I'm much much more concerned about noise pollution from the straight pipes that the Sheriffs do not enforce.

Address that problem and then I'll join your cause. Otherwise its not a big enough issue. 1000 planes go down nationally. Big deal.

How many people died? maybe 500? Peanuts.

Fentanyl killed over 1600 in San Diego alone last year.

These schools if you did the prior reading fly in circles over Solana Beach and Encinitas. Over and over and over. WE don't care if they fly in one direction and back. But circling is going to stop. It's a threat and now Home Security is involved. Trust me, you don't want those guys showing up at your door. 62. Holy Crap. I just watched the video. Can we change our City Code so that we can contract with Terry Gaasterland to be the City of Encinitas Mayor?

A group of bipartisan leaders representing some of the county’s cities today demanded the San Diego Association of Governments reconsider the weighted system the body uses to vote at its meeting.

The group make up 10 of the 19-member SANDAG board, representing a majority of the votes but a minority of the weighted votes. The board is heavily weighed in favor of the city and county of San Diego, which represent 57.4% of the county’s population and 57% of the board’s vote and which did not sign a joint letter released Thursday demanding the item be placed on Jan. 13’s board meeting agenda.

“We need to set the weighted vote aside and listen to each other again. Overriding a tally vote disenfranchises the smaller cities — collectively 50% of the region,” said Terry Gaasterland, Del Mar Councilwoman, continuing, “let’s pursue balanced planning that treats the needs of all residents equitably and fairly.”

The 10 signing members include the representatives for some of the largest cities such as Oceanside and Escondido, but also some of the smallest — Del Mar, Coronado and Poway among them. Weighed out according to the certified Jan. 1, 2022 population, the signees of the letter represent municipalities making up 23.5% of the county’s population and 24% of the weighted vote.

Currently, the weighted votes from San Diego and Chula Vista heavily outnumber the other regions in San Diego County, and the representatives from these two regions are expected to support the unpopular mileage tax. Mayor Todd Gloria from San Diego, and Chula Vista’s Councilwoman Cardenas.

Democrat Councilwoman Terry Gaasterland explained her issues with SANDAG’s weighted voting structure in more detail with KUSI’s Paul Rudy on Good Morning San Diego.

    https://www.kusi.com/del-mar-mayor-terry-gaasterland-supports-changes-to-sandags-weighted-voting-structure/

It’s bad enough to go after older people, but then convincing parents to give their young children vaxes who don’t seem prone to getting co vid? My Grandbaby developed respiratory issues after being given the vax at age two. And it’s not Asthma. They don’t know what it is. Huh?
