Encinitas is looking to fill the final two years of Tasha Boerner Horvath’s term after she was elected to the State Assembly [...]
In Encinitas, Susan Nancarrow Glenn, a local real estate broker, and William J. Creagan, a real estate agent, have submitted applications, Assistant City Clerk Claudia Bingham said.
Housing, housing, and more housing! Susan already has the votes! The question is, will she support L-7 and streetscape?
ReplyDeletefor the record, here is the 101 prior to streetrape.

Thanks for the cool video. Its good for the archives. It also shows how well one lane of traffic works with a bike lane on the section.
DeleteIts criminal that the City has not installed a bicycle lane on the southbound direction as people are continually mowed down. The conditions remain the same today as the day when Roberta and the other women were run down on that roadway.
Criminal. Where is the DA on this action?
There's a good back and forth between Susan and others on Encinitas Votes. She's a realist and I think the council would benefit greatly from her involvement. So far she's the best - I hope she gets it.
ReplyDelete"A realist???" She is anti Prop A, supported Measure U, and supports Streetscape.
DeleteShe's more of the same, fitting perfectly in the dictator's pocket.
And there was no "good back and forth." She spouted the same inane "I'll listen" crap as Shaffer and Blakespear before her.
This whole thing is a SHAME! Just like when they appointed Joe Mosca. Joe worked their campaigns, give them money and now just does what he's told. Let's paid the cost for an election and let US decide. It's going to cost us more if we allow this to continue. We have NO balance on this council.
ReplyDeleteThis council is completely dominated by special interests cronies. Two realtors - pretty transparent what their interests are. I agree with 4:44 PM - call for a special election.
Delete...set the fox to guard the henhouse...
ReplyDeleteWilliam Morrison and Kelly Shay Hinze for council? Give me a freaking break.
ReplyDeleteSurprised? Not that much, considering what tools they are for whatever the city proposes.
Their hubris is not a surprise either. Gawd spare us from either of them.
Let them keep their city paid mainstreet and Leucadia town council positions. They surely don't deserve to be on our council, no way, no how.
Oh, the horror of it all that they could even be considered.
A special election would be worth every penny, but it is not going to happen.
Wed. will tell the tale on how far the fix is in. Two realtors, actually the first two are only the beginning of those who represent profiteering off of our community's future that some are trying to protect.
None of the candidates stand for this effort by residents who can see through the smokescreen with the exception of Tony B. and he won't be chosen.
I would love to be wrong.
Over on EV Nancarrow is asking with innocently-wide eyes "is there a problem with a real estate agent on the council?"
DeleteHubbard-level clueless. Until she starts voting, then she'll know exactly what she's doing...and why.
I couldn't see her "innocently-wide eyes" on the EV post. Did she remove the picture?
DeleteI know the Leucadia town council is not a city paid position.
ReplyDeleteHow about Tony Brandenburg? He has served as a Planning Commissioner and worked with kids in the Olivenhain community for many years. At least he supports residents more than the current group.
ReplyDeleteTony doesn’t live in the district.
DeleteThe chances of council appointing someone ineligible to run for the seat in 2020 are nil.
The appointee doesn't have to live in the district.
DeleteAnd you mean the chances of Catherine not continuing to appoint yes-men and women and consolidating power is nil.
Pffffffft.
DeleteLike if you were on council, you would nominate someone who (a) wasn’t eligible to run for the seat next year, (b) would spend their two years in office undermining your work.
Elections have consequences. 85%—the mayor has a mandate, and the support of a huge majority. I’m sorry you are in the tiny minority. That must suck.
The mayor does not have a mandate. That's patently false and claiming such reveals how disingenuous you and she are.
Delete85% is a crushing mandate.
DeleteIt was the highest margin of victory of any race in SD County.
She didn't have a viable opponent! You've gone from disingenuous to moronic.
DeleteBlakespear was a very strong candidate.
DeleteStrong candidates deter strong opponents from wasting their time and money.
When it’s obvious to everyone the incumbent will win, then the only person nutty enough to run turns out to be a looney tunes metaphysical broker and his dog.
Catherine has strong support of the whole community.
4:38 PM
Delete"She didn't have a viable opponent" And why was that? Where were you? You bitch along with others but you never show up. Whether you like her or not the quality of her opponent says as much as the vote total.
Thank you, 5:24 & 5:47, who are likely the same person, for showing your ignorance and bias. You don't know what you're talking about, and now everyone reading the comments knows to ignore you.
Delete5:59 PM
DeleteNo, we're not the same person but thanks for demonstrating not to take you seriously.
OK, now everybody knows you're both idiots.
Delete12:35 AM
DeleteNo really, you don't need to keep proving that you shouldn't be taken seriously. We got it the first time although it does have entertainment value. Maybe you need to go to bed a little earlier. Just a thought.
3:20 PM
Delete12:35 AM is in Japan on business.
4:44 PM
DeleteThen I guess there's no excuse. Maybe jet lag.
"Catherine has strong support of the whole community."
DeleteAgainst A, for T, U and Streetscape. Didn't produce an HEU most residents want. Is in the minority on all five cited.
How does that amount to support of the whole community?
We have a great city council. All the right people in all the right places.
