Kranz takes heat for dubious reasons for firing Planning Commissioner

 Encinitas Votes

  1. I guess that Tony extra sensitive about conflict of interest since accepted a two-week vacation to Israel for him and his wife and then voted to do favors for Leichtag by spot changing their agricultural zoning. One way to try to justify it is to claim that Bruce Ehlers is also compromised with conflict of interest--except in the case of Ehlers, there is no evidence!

  2. Kranz is a dufus - he has always hid in someone's shadow. Now he is doing Queen Blakespear's bidding - he is a pathetic, gutless worm. Taking bribes from Leichtag should have put in in court; he and Dalager are in the same boat. He needs to be recalled - he is worthless and corrupted.

  3. Sold out his community and district because without the Dem's or the BIA and special interest money, he'll never get over the finish line - or even close!

    Local control advocate, my Ass!

A recall right about now would be the best he can hope for.

  4. Classic Kranz: does the wrong thing, tries unsuccessfully to explain later how sorta sorry he was, waits for the party faithful to return. Maybe not so many as before this time around....

    Anyone know who's advising him??

  5. ask Garvin Walsh, those two were quite chummy at the dais

  6. What makes the firing dubious? Cheer up, now he'll have more time to focus on his campaign. Plus, his victim status may play well with voters.

  7. So even on Easter, we get assaulted by Kranz's increased empty train blasts and pollution. More assault by the empty pollutant machines burning millions of gallons of diesel with the wasted fuel spewing all through the neighborhood and into children's lungs increasing their chance of cancer every day the empty death machines operate. Not to mention the public health damage caused by the increased horn blasts 24/7/.

And he led NCTD to fence off coastal access and to build massive seawalls.

Then he denies putting $7 million in discretionary funding toward constructing quiet zones or fixing the roads that are literally failing apart, and he approves dumping another $7 million into the Pacific View money pit.

This F'^&*cker never stops assaulting Encinitas. We can not take another two years of his assaults.

Fricken Tony will be lucky if all he gets is a recall. After what he has done to Encinitas, I think he has really worn out his welcome. Tony completely blew off every request from Leucadia and we need to make him accountable for his actions.
-Massive density approved in Encinitas and highest in Leucadia.
    - Led effort at NCTD to fence off coastal access and build seawalls
    - puts $18,000,000 towards the money pit Pacific View
    - Lets our roads crumble.
    - Led NCTD to increases train horn blasts in Encinitas and shines request to put the $7 million the City has towards the problem. Of course BIAspear got a quiet zone constructed in her neighborhood first.

    - creates a parking lot along Vulcan instead of a nice trial like in BIAspears neighborhood.

Leucadia Now - please provide a link to his Recall petition and lets start taking ownership of our town.

I am seriously going to be noting the locations on what properties if any have Kranz signs this year.

  8. Tony the failure!

The quiet zone should already be in place if we didn't have such a loser City Council. San Diego has them, Cardiff has one, and Oceanside has them. Recall Kranz Now.

Check out the article - https://thecoastnews.com/encinitas-takes-step-toward-establishing-citywide-quiet-zone/

What the reporter "forgot" to mention was the same night they approved $7 million dollars to go towards the money pit Pacific View.

So Tony is focussed on building yet another public facility money pit that will require millions and millions to operate and maintain in perpetuity, yet he increased the horn blasts while he led NCTD and severely increased the destruction to public health.

F*(&ck'n Tony need to go now! Recall Kranz!!

  9. 8:29pm. I believe there is a mental condition that may require some professional help for the repeater we have here foaming at the mouth. Figuratively speaking of course.

Hey buddy, we all know how bad tony has been for our community. We don't need the constant reminder.

Yes, it would be good to not have to put up with him for another two years. We get it. We got it.

Oh well, it was worth a try.

Oh well, I guess we will see a Tony sign in your yard and we can have a real nice conversation then. :)

We will not put up with him for two more year and hence the successful recall effort.

  10. The only "victim status" is the one the mayor confers on herself every time she pens a newsletter. Different topics, always plays the victim.

Ehlers will tell you this reflects completely on the council. Anyone in the room will tell you that the council revealed themselves to be what everyone always knew to be true: they're a shameless group of bought and paid for developer shills.

    ReplyDelete
  11. 10:02 - True that. Recall Kranz Now!

  12. So all you see from my comment was support of tony?

Not even close and as far off the mark as could be.

While we are mostly on the same page about tony and the rest of the council lackeys, your cognitive abilities are in question, especially if you think I support any of the current council sell outs.

We get it. We got it. You are tiring, as your constant same old, same old posts.

  13. Tony Kranz stated that he considers Bruce Ehlers a friend. Tony is mainly friends with developers or other special interests who can give him money or provide vacation opportunities. His friendship is condition. He sucks as a council member and does not know the meaning of friendship.

    1. Nice. Thats how I treat my friends too right?.... put a knife in their back and then don't give them equal time to present their side of a story, talk over them and down to them they entire time, and do not listen to any response.

Wow Kranz. It's all clear now. If you treat your friends with no respect and aggression, I see why you take the public as fools and tools in your passive aggressive world.

  15. 7:34 - Agreed. Anyone supporting Kranz is an enemy to Encinitas. We will be watching any endorsements or supporting gestures like signs in yards, etc.....

  18. There is a nefarious trend of San Francisco area transplants coming to Encintas, buying property, and bringing they're failed political ideas to Enc. It's been proven and obvious over the last 5-7 years. The woketopian crowd has been transplanted to Enc. It's ugly and proves just because you have $$ does not equal any common sense. The best thing that we can do is vote every single one of these emotional basket cases out. I'm afraid that may not be possible and it's over. I fervently pray for a massive financial crisis with property correcting 40-50%. Shit - that would bring us back to 2018 or so values. It would be great for everyone.

  19. Another hit for EG: https://yourencinitasguerrilla.blogspot.com/

Mayor Blakespear: “I did not intend to have this be a public execution.”
I wanted it to be private by phone call and instant compliance. That damn Bruce Ehlers had to make his execution a big, public issue — and during a City Council meeting of all things!

Listen, I’m mayor. It’s my party and I’ll lie if I want to. I can have conflicts of interest galore, but I never have to recuse myself. I can cater to the BIA, my PACs and my developer friends while bearing no guilt or responsibility. And so can any member of the City Council — that’s our right as elected officials.

Residents? Citizens? Pfft! Thank you for your comments, which I ignore. What do you think this is? A representative democracy?

I pay no attention to your input, but you have to abide by my no-clapping rule during council meetings. I got that idea from the California Coastal Commission. They’re just as corrupt and unresponsive to the public as the Encinitas City Council, so that makes them a perfect model to follow.

And to answer one speaker’s question, no, you can’t clap for a recess. I gavel a recess whenever I’m about to lose my cool, and I don’t need any applause.

Bruce Ehlers has been so obviously biased in his Planning Commission decisions that I shouldn’t have to give examples. He’s been a naughty boy, and he deserves more than a spanking. He has had the unmitigated gall to criticize me and the City Council’s goals and policies. He fails to understand that the city does not challenge developers on the basis of the municipal code and state laws. We just rubber-stamp whatever they propose.

As mayor, I reserve the right to make petty, childish, arbitrary, vindictive political gestures. I enjoy the support of the council members in that right. As Councilwoman Hinze revealed by saying she would vote with the majority before the public knew what the majority was, we decided Bruce Ehlers’ fate before the meeting. Then we each devised an elaborate justification for our votes. That’s par for the course. It’s what we always do. We all look bored to death during the hearings because we already know the conclusions. The hearings are a charade.

It doesn’t matter that Bruce Ehlers is a man of high moral character, a genuine, principled man of integrity, a man who has served the best interests of the community for many years. What matters is he has not only stepped on my toes, he has stomped all over them. I will not be questioned. My motives and actions will not be sullied — especially when they deserve it.

I have my political future to protect. I cannot have Bruce Ehlers or anybody else jeopardize my ascension to the state Senate and governorship. Whoever gets in my way will suffer the same execution, whether in private or public. Mark my words!

  20. More of the same from the Encinitas Votes crowd here on the anonymous blog. Only now they're worried about Creepmoaner not pulling votes or Morris the Cat steaking votes from her so the narrative changes from Blakespear the destroyer to Kranz the fence builder, horn blower, money waster, in the pocket of developers, Jews, and "anyone we don't like today." Nothing but hate from this group, over and over again.

    1. Why should we bother to read it? Tony always has either a developer, Marco, or someone else write for him. He is a moron and can't communicate anything in his own words since he has none. In fact, the comment about sounds like it was written by Marco since "keyboard warriors" shows up in his writing often, and he also tends to keep his thesaurus on hand to find an unusual adjective to attempt to elevate his whines and hurt feelings that he is the city joke.

    2. For 5:42—

Since the first Earth Day on April 22, 1970, the U.S. national average temperature has climbed by 2.6°F, and all the continental states have warmed — many significantly, Axios' Andrew Freedman writes.

Why it matters: Earth Day was born as a symbol of the environmental movement, originally focused on air and water pollution. Now it's a reminder of human-caused climate change — more severe heat waves and wildfires ... stronger hurricanes ... and heavier flooding.

Of 49 states with sufficient data (absent Hawaii) and 246 cities examined by researchers at Climate Central, a climate communications nonprofit, each state and 244 cities saw temperatures climb in the past 52 years.

30%: The increase in the atmospheric concentration of heat-trapping carbon dioxide in the atmosphere since 1970.

7.7°F: The amount Reno, Nevada, has warmed since 1970, putting it first on the list of fastest-warming cities.

4.3°F: The total average warming in Alaska during the past 52 years, making it the fastest-warming state.

The Mid-Atlantic and Northeast are also seeing rapidly rising temperatures. Vermont's average has risen 3° degrees since 1970.
