8/9/23 City Council meeting open thread

  1. Sit back, grab some popcorn and your favorite beverage and watch the City Of Encinitas shit show.

Best part of the whole story is the very beginning during public comments. Here you will hear the truth from the citizens of Encinitas before the city manager can try and squelch public input and control the conversation for her whacked out clown council.

Past public comments the rest of the meeting will be just a contrived shit show to appease developers. No sense in wasting your time watching it.

  2. How about this comment. Today at 4:10 p.m, Christopher Sluka flight school over out of Montgomery Field 18 miles away flying over Scripps Hospital 4 times, schools, parks and the population.
14 times back forth and also dumpling leaded fuel exhaust over your kids. Tail number N3001T.

This is the same clown that crash landed on a Carlsbad Beach at the beginning of the year.
You think he cares? He just flew back and forth over Encinitas 14 times to show you how much he cares.

    2. I don't know who Garvin is. Now, if you referred to me as an ex-U.S Army Combat Medic you would be accurate.

  3. Remove to everything and add one yield.

This Abe guy doesn't make sense. No wonder so many lawsuits.

    Why is he still here?

  4. Joy is an Az idiot. This is not a roundabout.

Quick build is shit build by shit decisions.

  5. Is Az Joy going to talk for another hour or two?

  6. Elhers nails it. Pull it all out and return it to a residential street.

Abe is a full creating bad decision. He is not the City Engineer.

    1. Worse, he’s the traffic engineer. Stubborn, incompetent and empowered.

    3. Sheridan speedbumps, YOU are next!

What did staff learn from this? You can bet they learned to not listen to citizen objections next time they plan something. The original plan was for stop signs, three years later, back to stop signs.

Nobody picked up on the Surfer's Point announcement?

The state has been hammering cities, now the County Superior Court is weighing in. 17 of 18 cities in the county are failing their RHNA obligations. So sad, too bad...

The point is, maybe the so called "housing crisis" is bogus too. Is this another follow the experts situation?

Sometimes the end of the meeting has nuggets too.

Of note, The heads of NCTD, Water Authority, and SANDAG are all leaving their jobs. Do they know something we don't?

    4. Buying Surfer’s Point with what? To do what?

  7. Phony calls out one of her drinking buddies and asks if he came rolling out of one of the many bars.

I sure hope her friend doesn't kill a kid with his DUI behavior.

The Town Dunce, " Dad Gum. I didn't dink he would run over a kid. Hey Starvin' what should we do now?"

    More lawsuits

  10. Yeah, surfers point was announced and the city is buying more property that I can’t afford…

I heard they’re going to build a Third community center on it and hire 15 more staff members.

Encinitas roads are completely unsafe, city council doesn’t care and the taxpayers are completely screwed. Whoops.

    I’m sorry girls. I wish I had a brain

    1. Thank you Phony. I heard the asking price for the property was 8 million so you offered 10 million.

      Great negotiating again!

    2. Complain if they let the owner build something.

Complain of they preserve it as open space.

      With good reason too.

    4. 7:36- stupid decisions, stupid decisions, stupid decisions.

Happens when a minority of voters elects The Town Dunce as mayor.

Thank you New Jersey Starvin’ and Barstow 🐖👧.

    5. What I think the City should have done is prohibit the owner from building anything on his property, but don’t buy it. Also, pass an ordinance giving everyone access to the land. That way it becomes open space and it’s FREE!

      Also, I’m a huge dummy!

    6. 10:57- at least you are correct. You are a dummy.

  11. Don't leave quite a bit of disgust too.

  12. 10:50 - 💯

stupid decisions, stupid decisions, stupid decisions.

Crap like this happens when a minority of voters elects The Town Dunce as mayor.

Streets continue to be crumbling, people get killed on LaCosta, because of no action taken, and taxpayers will pay in the end. Can we please be annexed to Solana Beach or Carlsbad?

Thank you New Jersey Starvin and Barstow 🐖👧.

  13. How about that last night where the city Council consumed hours and hours and hours of citizens time to address an issue that they created that didn’t really address any issue of need?

It was an Abe created problem.

Ehlers had the most common sense comments out of all the council members. This group of clowns is embarrassing.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Thank you Bruce Ehlers our lord and savior for voting with the woke majority 100% of the time as he does every meeting. Voting yes to allow Phony to throw away another 6 million of our tax dollars was a nice touch. However voting yes to create a new Equity Committee was the highlight of the night.

    2. Did he vote yes on the newest equity farce? Not that his vote counts for anything, but if he did, that’s quite the disappointment.

    3. He sure did. He's voted with Phony and Woke Trio on everything.

      3. $tock$

You earned 3rd and being the biggest sell out to the residence of Encinitas. Enjoy your presence with two other huge losers. Maybe you can get a motorboat with your buddy Phony from Starvin’

  16. Roads are crumbling and we the council continue to waste money.

  17. Streetscape - ugly, inefficient and expensive. Dangerous back up parking, sporatically placed speed bumps that destroy car suspensions, and chaotic intermixing of bikes and vehicles. Now the Council will soon approve mass density development in commercial zones. If you think traffic and parking is bad now, you ain't seen nothing yet!

    ReplyDelete
  18. But, but, but, Tony once said at a council meeting that the worse they can make the traffic on the 101, the less people on the 5 will divert when it is clogged.

Brilliant, absolutely brilliant Tony. Is this thinking yours all alone? Is this what Vision Zero promotes? Vision Zero is more like zero vision and yet our city planners bought into it whole hog. Hog being relevant.
