The current city council has continued prior councils' practice of not providing written summary minutes of council discussion, but only "action minutes" which state the outcomes. Encinitas Undercover will provide a forum for observers to record what occurs at each council meeting.
Please use the comments to record your observations.
Items of interest include the Fire Station 2 (Mackinnon in Cardiff) appraisal
ReplyDeleteAlso on the consent calendar the Council is raiding another fund to pay for a heating/cooling system that should have lasted longer than 20 years.
Agenda item 8D:
FISCAL CONSIDERATIONS:
$443,800 is needed for the HVAC replacement at the Encinitas Community and Senior Center. $393,751 is available in the General Fund 101 (CP04G) project balance and a $50,049 transfer from the parking lot improvements will cover the total cost of the HVAC replacement in FY 14/15.
The total amount of approved funding for parking lot improvements for FY 14-15 is $210,000. The amount of funding to be transferred to the HVAC system is $50,049 which leaves a remaining balance of $159,951. The remaining balance will be used to restripe and sign five (5) parking lots located at various parks. Two (2) sites will defer parking lot improvements to FY
2016-17 and includes asphalt removal, grading, sealing and striping. Accessibility will not be impacted by deferring these two sites.
Poor management. From the council on down this city can't find it's ass with both hands.
DeleteOk so Perry is asking the council if they want free newspapers.
ReplyDeleteSabine giving deep advice about litter.
1st amendment freedoms .
Now some man talking about bonds what this has to do with the city I have no idea...
Julie talking about community character.... Julie,Julie,Julie we get it you want to Keep Leucadia Crappy.

DeleteYou are a stack and pack person.
Stack & pack. Repeat that 10 times fast!
Delete7:28- YOU are a crap lover !! Vote for Julie keep Leucadia crappy .

DeleteYOU are a stack and pack, high density tall buildings crap lover. Vote for Julie to stop the stack and pack, high density tall buildings people from overrunning our neighborhoods.
It's not always that black and white, 6:21 thru 9:57. Hope Julie knows the multiple values of roundabouts and isn't fished in by stubborn crumudgeons who prefer idleing at stops.
Delete7:31, Try saying "Peggy Babcock" three times in a row. A friend discoverd that difficult task from reading the name aloud from a newspaper. Dare someone to try and watch most of them fail on the first word.
The aluminum coils are begining to fail from the marine air environment. The city runs a huge risk if they were to fail and leak refrigerant.
ReplyDeleteGaspar thinks she is running a game show , come on down folks!
ReplyDeletethat is hilarious
DeleteGaspar as mayor makes me want to "throw up". How many times does she say "excellent". Hip, hip, hooray. Take it away Councilman Kranz. This woman is so juvenile it is frightening.
DeleteI can't take two more years of this teenie bopper.
My favorite is her pledge of allegiance prompt to the audience: "Ready, begin!" It's all downhill from there.
DeleteLove that one (NOT). Why is GASpar the only one to place her left arm behind her back when reciting the pledge? Not mandatory, but protocol is left arm at side with right hand over heart.
DeleteMaybe she can don a cheerleader's outfit for her campaign? The old codgers would like that!
Delete6:55 PM
ReplyDeleteThat's not the story coming out of city hall. When the community center was built 12 years ago, the city didn't have the $20,000 needed to put a protective coating on the coils.
Road site... tree site ... give I.T. a bag of asphalt and a saw. Let's fix things in the real world.
ReplyDeleteI just cannot watch any more of this. They all look like idiots. Turning to a movie instead.
ReplyDeleteLet us know how Thelma and Louise ends, then maybe, follow their example?
Delete8:08- Instead of Thelma and Louise I watched "The Big Lewbowski" Much more inspiring:)
DeleteThis meeting was the most wasted meeting I have seen in a very long time. Just a few meetings ago, something very important couldn't get on the agenda because they were so overbooked. What the hell? Plenty of time tonight to discuss things, but, alas, the mayor had to go tuck her kids in bed.
