Morrison out, Lerchbacker in

Leucadia 101 merchants' association leader William Morrison has apparently not filed his council candidacy papers. The deadline passed last night.

In the race now is long-time Cardiff resident and US Navy veteran Alan Lerchbacker.

Read all about it via Jared Whitlock in the Advocate.

  1. So our choices are tweedle dumb or tweedle dee.?? It's no wonder enc is in the shape it's in. Morrison would have been the bright spot on the council. His gain of more family time is the citizens of enc loss. Too bad for us.

  2. Seeing as the ex-CEO of Redflex has now been indicted on conspiracy charges, why is Encinitas still doing business with Redflex.

“The alleged confluence of corrupt local officials and corrupt corporate officers demands a counterweight of local and federal authorities working to redeem the frayed confidence of the public,” Ferguson said in a joint news release with U.S. Attorney Zachary Fardon.

  3. After all your on-line bitching, nobody on this blog is running for Council!!!
Typical, just complain and do nothing! At least these losers (candidates) have the guts to run for office, more than I can say about any of you.

    5. We can be a stronger united voice coming together for the betterment of Encinitas than a lone vote on the council.

  9. Can you imagine if they gave every town the right to vote on the allowable height of bridges?

  10. Prop A clearly states bridges can be over 30' tall if no one lives under them. .

  11. Alan Lerchbacker claims to be a 'disabled' Veteran yet his door hanger marketing mailer shows him standing with a surfboard on the beach. Surfing appears to be tough on the body so essentially this man has a lifetime government pension and has somehow spiked this pension by claiming a lifetime disability. Isn't fair to know what this disability is and how much it costs tax payers on a monthly basis?
