Happy Birthday, Mary!

  1. What I love about this blog is no matter how many political postings it may provide, such as how Del Mar has recently added more side walk south of the bridge for safe passage but Encinitas still maintains North 101 as death trap, how Solana Beach has completely their 101 streetscape and Encinitas continues to fiddle faddle (10+ years)about, we can always count on a photo of the damn lame limp wristed kook celebrating a birthday to steer us on the straight and narrow of what most important in the city.

  2. Thanks, WC. Don't let those with a one-track mind get you down, bro.

As if Encinitas hasn't added more sidewalks, nor re-surfaced, added bike lanes and lower the speed limit on N 101 yet. Why is it when improvements do materialize here, Grumpy wants to send them all to Disneyland?

Del Mar has it all. An impressive new car show backed up to the tip of Torrey Pines Rd. each day. Traffic calming features of 10 stops slowing traffic down to an average 5 mph through town. One happy gas station on 4th. A new sidewalk so pedestrians can enjoy the Pacific, glistening off of a long string of pearly paint jobs. The best part is that there are no emergencies in Del Mar, and if there ever were, there's probably a doctor in the next car. I do pity their lack of therapeutic public art though.

    1. Is nobody else reading the Council Agenda for tonight?

Barth, Kranz and Shaffer are about to give the Botanic Garden a million dollars worth of property for free: and at the same time, let the XucXing EUSD school district off completely free without having to submit to any EIR, design review, plan check, nuthin', because Baird refused to allow the City Planning Department to know anything about what they were doing for the last coupla years: only for Baird, the Trustees et al have asked Kranz for a free-pass to do whatever they want, without the knowledge of neighbors, surrounding businesses etc...or the City Planners/Engineers. Nuthin!

After EUSD absolutely scalped this trio of non-leaders on the council into spending $6 mil that wasn't required, and now the trio will be busy tonight raising every fee, tax etc... because the financial cupboards are bare because of their overspending: in the same exact meeting tonight these boobs are literally giving away millions in public property, while a city investigation is just beginning about the 'Botanic' Gardens operating without permission in a dozen ways that are inappropriate and at times apparently illegal. And this has been going on for almost a decade and a half.

And this Big Giveaway explains 'why' perhaps, the give-away trio didn't want Gaspar to become the interim Mayor. 3 votes is 3 votes: can they be stopped? Why does the school district, which has repeatedly misled the public about the Naylor Act and operated in what appears to be bad faith, get to go to the head of the line and have the Council allow them to skirt any of the planning and usage ordinances? This is not only environmentally dangerous, but extremely foolish politically. The biggest joke is that originally, the 'garden' idea was designed to bring money into EUSD: instead Baird and the trustees have expended millions on a property they extorted from the Ecke's under what now is clearly faulty information and premises.

The same poisons used in the park/farm on Santa Fe, were used for years on this EUSD 'Garden' property. More Shapiro insanity! The City is gonna allow them to open and operate without a public hearing on the Planning Commission level? Really? Why?

      Why?

Does no one really care what this trio is doing to this City?
