It’s a whole ecosystem of one of the most elite universities on earth that draws the best young talent from around the world, cutting edge research institutions, design thinking and innovation, people who understand rapid iteration and disruption, private equity and Angel investors. It’s an entire ecosystem of innovation that isn’t easy to replicate.

But some markets become commoditized and have to chase cheaper labor to drive out cost.
But if you are in a place like Texas, and your sales pitch is cheaper labor, then you are screwed long term, because there are people in Mexico and India who will always beat your labor cost.
That’s why Tesla is already building the next step on that path in Mexico.
Think about how much revenue the state of California lost after Lorena Gonzalez’s stupid tweet and we’re still losing tax revenue, it’s not like TSLA will be back here tomorrow. It’s gonna take awhile.
